“Words matter. Use them wisely.”

Julia helps organizations tell stories that connect with their audience. Before joining Corcoran in June 2015, she served as Chief Communications Officer for SAFE Austin, a merger of SafePlace and Austin Children’s Shelter.

Under her leadership, SafePlace achieved a 350% increase in direct mail revenues and a 171% increase in newsletter revenues. “We changed everything – newsletters, website, direct mail appeals, and thank-you language – to tell our story more effectively. And it worked.”

As Communications Director for Trinity Episcopal School, she developed a publication that won a Council for Advancement in Support of Education (CASE) Award.

At Corcoran, she has helped El Buen Samaritano, People’s Community Clinic, the LBJ Foundation, and many more hone their messages and reach their audiences.

Julia graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in English.
