Do you need help right now?
If so, you’re not alone. Most of our clients have vacancies across all departments. Austin’s job market is one of the tightest and most competitive in the nation, and it’s harder than ever to find and retain talented employees.
There’s also evidence that the nonprofit sector in particular is vulnerable to what’s being described as “the Great Resignation.” That’s what Mission Capital believes is behind the increased activity on their local nonprofit jobs board, according to Membership Manager Chelsea Hartness.
One potential resource for help is Philanthroforce. This online searchable directory — an offshoot of the original we developed in 2017 — now has 441 consultants working across all nonprofit departments and sectors, including finance, HR, marketing, and compliance.
(They’ve got fundraising consultants, too … but we hope you already feel like you can call us anytime! 😉)
As for how to weather the storm … there isn’t much nonprofits can do to compete with signing bonuses and tech salaries. But that means it’s more important than ever to make your work environment pleasant and functional. It’s much easier to keep the employees you have than to find and train a new team in this environment.
Austin is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. With a roaring economy and a growing roster of high-net-worth residents, opportunity abounds — as long as you’ve got a team in place ready to execute.
Let’s make the most of it! 💪🏽
